Formalities

• Identity Documents
  Only the identity card or passport validity is required. However, if you are to pass through countries outside the European Union to visit Bulgaria, you must have a passport (valid 6 months after the date of return).
• Driving license
  European driving licenses are valid in Bulgaria. If you are planning on travelling with you own vehicle, bring along your car registration papers as well as a green card which mentions the BG (Bulgaria) in order to be covered in case of an accident. If that is not the case, contact you insurance agent to make the necessary changes. Otherwise, it is possible to get such insurance at the border. At these points you must also pay the road tax as there are no pay tolls within the country.
• International Student Travel Confederation (ISIC card)
  

  Students are invited to procure an ISIC card to benefit from several reductions on transportation, cultural events, leisure activities, etc. For more information, visit the website www.ISICcard.com. The price is 9 £.
