The Minkov Brothers Winery is located on the main road between Sliven and Karnobat, near the village of Venets. Built on a small hill, the winery boasts stunning views of the vineyard (300 hectares), and the surrounding region.
The offered tastings of red and white wines will take you to the land of Dionysus. You can take a tour of two underground tunnels that store more than 6,000 French and American oak barrels, maintained at a consistent temperature.
The location of the winery was not chosen at random. In fact, the local and tribal traditions of winemaking in the area allow the production of high quality wines with character. The winery holds some of the awards given to the Minkov brothers, who made wines famous in the region during the late 19th century. Their wines won several awards at international competitions, including the first gold medal in Brussels, in 1894. In a specially built museum complex, there are several preserved old vessels for storing wine, as well as 5th and 6th century red ceramics found in the region. This will help give visitors a clear idea of the region’s history and the Minkov family.
