The village of Kosovo is located in the Rhodope Mountains, 5 kilometers from the Narechen spa resort. Founded in the 17th century, it developed in the nineteenth century thanks to the raising of livestock, agriculture, and masonry. Most of its Renaissance style houses date from around this period. Surrounded by beautiful nature, this is one of the most charming villages in the Rhodopes. In fact, some of the houses here were built by the same craftsmen who built the Kuymdjioglu and Georgiadi Houses in Plovdiv.
Forgotten in the 20th century, today the village is struggling to regain its rightful place among the most beautiful villages in Bulgaria.
The surrounding area offers many opportunities for hiking and picnics. Located slight off the beaten path, here you can find peace and quiet. The narrow streets of the village are a great place for a walk, which will take you back through history.
