The Kordopulov House is the largest preserved Renaissance house in Bulgaria. Built in 1754, it is a great example of the classic architecture in Melnik. It consists of four floors and a wine cellar carved in local tradition. Access to the cellar is provided by a 150 meter long tunnel dug into the rock. The largest barrel in the cellar has a capacity of 12.5 tons, and the total capacity of the cellar is about 300 tons.
The interior of the house is decorated with Venetian paintings, antique furniture, carvings, and stained glass. Here you can immerse yourself in the winemaking traditions of the region with a glass of wine made from the famous local Wide Melnik Vine
Today, the house is a private museum and enjoys great interest, with about 30,000 tourists visiting it annually.
