The Buinovo Gorge is among the longest gorges in Bulgaria. It is located between the villages of Yagodina and Teshel. This beautiful natural phenomenon was formed by the devastating force of the Buinovo River, which over time has carved through the marble layers of the mountains. The mountains that surround the Buinovo River reach several hundred meters in places.
The narrowest part of the gorge is called the “Wolf Jump”. According to local legends, wolves gather there to attack the chicken pens.
Karst activity is high in the region. In the village of Yagodina there are no less than 36 caves, the most famous being the Yagodina Cave, which is electrically lit and equipped for visitors. In the area there are other natural phenomena accessible to tourists, such as a natural rock bridge, beautiful waterfalls, and others.
