The Kableshkov House is the birthplace of Todor Kableshkov (1851), leader of the revolutionary committee in Koprivshtitsa, and the author of the bloody letter declaring a rebellion in the neighbor town of Panagyurishte. Arrested after the defeat of the rebels, he committed suicide in a Gabrovo prison. He was 25 years old.
The house was built in 1845 by the local Gencho Mladenov, at the request of Lulcho Kableshkov. The building is distinguished by its symmetry, its beautiful forms, and carved ceilings.
It was the first public museum opened in 1952, which tells the story of the city and the lifestyle of the rich local families. One part is dedicated to the life of Kableshkov, the April Uprising of 1976, and the volunteers from Koprivshtitsa that participated in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877 – 1878.
