At the foot of the Vitosha mountain, on the outskirts of Sofia, lies the magnificent Dragalevski Monastery. Erected in the 14th century, it is one of the few monasteries that were spared from the destructive attacks of the Ottomans. The frescoes in the church are of great ethnographic and artistic importance. Well maintained, it is precious to the Bulgarians, notably for its participation in the network of revolutionary committees.
