Strada Sforii (translated-Rope Street), with a width of 111-135 centimeters, is the narrowest street in the city of Brasov, and for some, in all of Eastern Europe. Its local name originated in the 17th century. Two reasons can explain the construction of such a narrow street: the first was to allow firefighters easier access to the city, and the second was to have a place for soldiers to accept surrender from enemy invaders. Anyway, for the residents of Brasov, the street remains linked to the young lovers of the city, who enjoy meeting there.
