The Orthodox Cathedral in Constanta is located on a peninsula in the city, not far from the beach. This is the main center of Orthodox worship for the whole region of Dobruja. Built in the late 19th century, this church was designed by the famous architect Ion Mincu. It was built in the neo-Byzantine style, and impresses with its size (the top of the bell tower is 35 meters from the ground) and interior frescoes, which were restored after being damaged during the Second World War.
