Huet Square is an area surrounding the wall of an ancient fortress, which is no longer used for protection. All of the buildings around the square are categorized as historical monuments, such as the Brukenthal High School or the Tower of Stairs.
The Evangelical Cathedral of Sibiu is located in the square. With its height of 73 meters, it is considered one of the most impressive Gothic churches in Transylvania. This church was built in 1520 (construction began in 1321), and is also the site where Mihnea cel Rau (son of Vlad the Impaler) was killed.
