In the yard of the St. Nicholas Church, in the Scheii neighborhood, you can find the museum of the first school to ever teach in Romanian in Brasov. Although this might seem normal, seeing as the school is in Romania, don’t forget that Brasov and the territory of Transylvania was not part of Romania until 1918.
Built in 1495, at the same time as the Church of St. Nicholas, the school welcomed its first class in 1583. The current building dates to 1760. Within the museum you can look through the different classrooms, book collections and historical documents.
