There are many interesting formations in the Romanian limestone karst. Speleologists estimate that there are over 12,000 caves in Romania.
The cave in the valley of the Rasnov Citadel, known as Fundata, is one of the most beautiful caves in Romania. Opened in 1949 as the result of a hydraulic blast, this cave is almost 800 meters above sea level and extends over a length of 900 meters though the mountains. Since 200, the cave and its surroundings are classified as a protected natural site, before being opened the public in 2011.
At the heart of the cave you can see stalactites and stalagmites that reach up to 2 meters in height.
