Mogosoaia Palace is one of the numerous monuments built by Constantin Brancoveanu. Located at the heart of a beautiful park, the building is a great example of Brancoveanu’s architectural style.
The palace was built for the Wallachian ruler in 1702, in the northwest outskirts of Bucharest. Following the execution of Brancoveanu and his family in Constantinople in 1914, the palace was bought by Stefan Cantacuzino, whose family retained possession of it up until the late 19th century. Later, the palace was destroyed on multiple occasions during the first Russo-Turkish War and during the revolution of 1821. However, it has undergone frequent renovations.
The palace includes various structures: the Tower Gate, kitchens, and the Church of St. George.
