The Roman Mosaic Edifice (Edificiul Roman cu Mozaic) is considered by many to be the archaeological jewel of Constanta. Built in the 6th century A.D during the reign of Emperor Constantine the Great, the building connected the port to the city. Its various rooms were used for commercial activities storage of goods. The Mosaic Hall served for meetings and negotiations between traders and locals of the time. Originally covered with 2000 square meters of mosaic, only 850 remain preserved today.
