The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most powerful symbols of Micul Paris, or Little Paris. It was built from 1920 to 1930 to commemorate the victory of Romania during the First World War. This structure replaced the temporary triumphal arches, such as the one made to honor Romania’s liberation from Ottoman rule. This monument is located north of the capital, and can be seen from Sosea Kiseleff and from Herastrau Park.
