Hanul Cu Tei is a caravanserai in the old part of Bucharest. Today, it is occupied by bars and cafes, ideal for holidays in the center of the Lipscani District. It was established in 1833 as the “Caravanserai of Limes” by the traders Stefan Popovic and Athanasius Polizu. The rectangular building has only one narrow passage, but was wide enough to allow the carts to deliver goods to the stores. Each of founders owned part of the alley, where there are now 14 shops. Today, these bars and nightclubs continue to keep the old caravanserai alive.
