The small town of Busteni is located in the heart of the Southern Carpathians, in the oft-visited Prahova Valley. You will find it at the foot of the Bucegi Mountains, on the road between Bucharest and Brasov.
The resort makes the majority of its revenues thanks to its well-developed tourism industry. The ski area of the city is one of the largest of the Carpathian Mountains. Summer tourism is also well developed. Busteni is often used as a starting point for hikes to the Bucegi Natural Park, the Urlatoarea waterfall, Omul Peak and Sphinx of Bucegi, which are accessible by foot or lift.
