The Saschiz Fortified Church is located in the village of Saschiz, a few kilometers south of Sighisoara. It is one of the Saxon structures that were added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 19993.
The main attraction of this late 15th century church is its clock tower, which bears a striking resembles to the clock tower in Sighisoara. The walls protecting the church were raised shortly after its completion, and measure up to 9 meters in height.
Visitors can complete their tour of Saschiz by exploring the old fortress, located west of the village.
